Dr. Hagop Panossian dreamt of creating a worldwide Armenian scientific organization for engineers, scientists, and industrialists to connect and support each other. In the late seventies, he discussed the idea with Dr. Stepan Simonian and Professor George Adomian, who both expressed enthusiasm. The first official founding meeting occurred on June 30, 1983, with 23 attendees, and the name “Armenian Engineers & Scientists of America” was established later. In 1984, an organizing committee was appointed to develop bylaws, obtain nonprofit status, and organize the structure of AESA.
