AESA North Eastern Branch Co-chaired the Annual Armenian Mentors Event

AESA North Eastern Branch Co-chaired the Annual Armenian Mentors Event

Introduction:

On April 19th, at Fordham University’s Lincoln Center Campus, the AESA Northeast co-chaired with AAHPO and thirteen other Armenian Organizations held its 13th Annual Mentoring Forum. Originally started by the AESA and AAHPO (American Armenian Health Providers Organization), the Annual Mentoring Forum has been an example of how different groups can come together to encourage and foster the careers for the next generation of Armenian citizens.

The Event:

Over 100 attendees filled the room to hear Anna Bennett lead a panel of experts on recruiting and mentorship, including Samuel Armen, Aram Babikian, Peter Bonjukian, and Nazo Haroutunian. After the panel answered questions from the audience, the attendees broke out into separate rooms based on discipline: Law, Healthcare, Engineering/Science/Technology, Business, and Other. Each room had a Zoom connection for any virtual participants.

The event was bookended by V. Rev. Fr. Sahag Yemishian, the Vicar General of the Eastern Prelacy of the Armenian Church in prayer, a nice Armenian spread from Krichian’s Armenian Bistro, followed by the traditional cake provided by Dr. Harry Takooshian, our gracious host. It was especially warming to see a large number of young professionals who have only entered the workforce in the past few years, come back to provide mentorship to the next group.
