Hovhannes John Mardirossian served as the second President of our group and served from 2015 to 2017. Hovhannes retired as a research Physicist from Bell Laboratories of Lucent Technologies. 

Hovhannes’s extensive background includes fundamental acoustics research on noise canceling technologies, and the design, development and application of active vibration and sensor technologies at Lucent Technologies’ Bell Laboratories. He has 5 years’ experience in product and system engineering for undersea high-rail fiber optics communication systems, at Tyco International Submarine Systems. He is also a Hi-Tech Wireless business proprietor and contractor for cellular in-building Wireless Network Systems Technologies. 

He received his Bachelor’s in Physics and Minor in Armenian History from AUB / Haigazian College in Lebanon, his Bachelor’s in Nuclear Physics from the City University of New York, and his Master’s of Science Degree from Stevens Tech / Bell Labs Study Program.

Hovhannes continues to take an active role in leading projects and initiatives in the Northeast Chapter and Chairs the Education Committee.
