Jenny Newman is the Assistant Executive Officer of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board, overseeing the Surface Water Division. She is responsible for directing the issuance and implementation of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits and waste discharge requirements, and overseeing the water quality assessments and planning activities for the region. She has been at the board since 2001 and, prior to becoming Assistant Executive Officer, served as the Regional Programs Section Manager, the TMDL Unit Supervisor, and an environmental scientist. Jenny holds a Master of Environmental Science and Management from the University of California Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science/Chemistry from the University of California San Diego.
