Member of the Board of Trustees of Kochard Foundation. 🏥 Past experience: volunteer of the Armenian Red Cross Society 2013-2021\, 3D modeler in Locator CJSC 2011-2015. \n📄 Summary:\nThe problem of peripheral nervous tissue defects (aka nerve gaps) in nerve ruptures is of considerable scientific interest in modern medicine. Such tissue defects can occur as a result of a number of injuries. If the nerve layers’ continuity is maintained or restored after being severed\, these layers begin to serve as regenerative tunnels for the regenerating axons. Otherwise\, nerve regeneration can become very challenging or virtually impossible. In the absence of a nerve defect or in case of very small defects\, the nerve needs to be sutured end-to-end. In the case of larger defects\, however\, a nerve graft is needed\, and autografting is the golden standard. Yet\, it is associated with problems such as limited donor sites\, the need for additional surgery\, possible scarring\, donor site morbidity\, neuroma formation at the donor site\, as well as the possibility of graft mismatch. DESCRIPTION:AESA\, in partnership with the Salmast Heritage Association\, cordially invites you to mark your calendar for an evening dedicated to honoring scientific excellence. \nHonoree\, Dr. Narek Gharibyan serves as the deputy group leader of the Nuclear and Radiochemistry Group at the Laboratory. He has supported experimental nuclear science at the National Ignition Facility including as the responsible scientist for a radiochemical diagnostic fielded during high-yield fusion shots.  Other research interests in nuclear and radiochemistry include isotope production\, chemical separations\, measurements relevant to nuclear reactions and decay properties\, and the application of nuclear science for national security. \n In 2012\, Dr. Gharibyan\, alongside Dawn Shaughnessy and Evgeny Tereshatov\, participated in the confirmation experiment for element 117 at GSI Darmstadt\, Germany.  In this experiment\, the scientists bombarded a berkelium target with calcium ions to produce element 117. Following this independent confirmation experiment\, in 2015\, element 117 was named tennessine with the symbol Ts. \nSpace is Limited\, RSVP is required. \n

We stand in solidarity with the Armenian community as we remember and reflect on this solemn occasion. \nA (Brief) History of the American Genocide\nFrom Armenian Genocide: Facts & Timeline – HISTORY \nThe Armenian genocide was the systematic killing and deportation of Armenians by the Turks of the Ottoman Empire. In 1915\, during World War I\, leaders of the Turkish government set in motion a plan to expel and massacre Armenians. By the early 1920s\, when the genocide finally ended\, between 600\,000 and 1.5 million Armenians were dead\, with many more forcibly removed from the country. Today\, most historians call this event a genocide: a premeditated and systematic campaign to exterminate an entire people. In 2021\, U.S. President Joe Bidenissued a declaration that the Ottoman Empire’s slaughter of Armenian civilians was genocide. Avetisyan’s most recent project Revival is the story of a woman’s secret which forces three different destinies to come together in search of their true identity and origin. Actions unfold during the Artsakh war in 2020 in Europe and Armenia/Artsakh. \nOne of the leading characters is ORCHID (ORganizer of CHaotic Input Data)\, which is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system designed\, trained\, and continuously improved by Murat (the main character) throughout the film. ORCHID has a huge role in the story narrative and even the structure of the film is based on the evolution and development of its character. The ORCHID system’s evolution in the film is also captured via its manifestations and visualization capabilities through Augmented Reality (AR). \nJoin us as we discuss how he integrated AI into his movie and what technological advances are in store for Armenia and film.
